History

This instrument came to us in mid 2002 while St. John was finishing its new building addition and sanctuary. Our dear friend and organ builder Mr. James Aebel informed the music department that this 15 rank pipe organ was for sale at another Lutheran church in the metro area. St. John purchased this pipe organ, and its new sanctuary was designed with the dimensions of the new pipe organ in mind. In this photo, you can see the acoustic Ceiling Clouds above the organ pipes.

The organ has 15 ranks of pipes, 861 pipes and 25 chime tubes in total. The organ was originally installed in 1979 with ten ranks of pipes, and later had five more ranks added in 1995 for a total of 15 ranks. The organ was moved into its present ideal location in 2003, and dedicated to the Glory of God on June 1, 2003.
